Subscribing to this thread...not that I have much time in Seattle, but will be up there this weekend too so I’d like to know what I’m missing out on.

Taking the train up to Tacoma Friday, hopefully buying a car (not jinxing any details, will share once it’s a done deal), shoot up to Seattle, rehearsal dinner for a wedding Friday night, catching up with old friends at their kids’ soccer game Saturday morning, wedding Saturday afternoon/evening, and then shooting back home to Portland Sunday morning.

Here’s to hoping I’m not stuck carless at the Tacoma train station come Friday evening...

I had tickets but the Mrs. is uber prego so I opted out. Which sucks cause Punk in Drublic was awesome. You’ll have good weather, avoid the the typical “Seattle stuff” like the Market or the Space Needle. That stuff will have huge crowds. Head to Woodinville and sample wines and whiskey or just find some good food and chill.

Good to know, thanks! I am buying it myself. The owner lives in Silverdale and is meeting me at the Tacoma Amtrak station to show me the car. I’ve already had it inspected and basically intend to do a quick test drive, head to the bank to get cash, complete the transaction, and drive off. All in broad daylight too (we’re meeting at 2.30pm).

All of this was my idea and the owner is simply being accommodating, it’s not that he picked some sketchy place to meet up. Just that taking the train is the most efficient way to go see the car and be able to drive it back myself. Will definitely keep the safety aspect in mind though as far as where we end up driving on the test drive!

Roger that. It sounds likely that the truck will be bought anyway. When you do, be sure to grab temporary tags even if the original plates are still on the car. B y law, the seller is supposed to get rid of the old plates, but not everyone follows that. :p
